History and facts

"Siemens" arena was the first international-standard multi-purpose arena in Lithuania and now hosts major entertainment, sports and business events, such as concerts by world and local music stars, various international sports competitions, performances, theatrical shows, business seminars and congresses. 

"Siemens" arena was built in just 12 months and opened its doors to visitors on October 30, 2004. The arena was designed by "Jungtinės Architektų Dirbtuvės" and "Stadium Consultants International", which are both globally recognized experts in arena design.

Since the end of 2007, "Siemens" arena has belonged to "SEVEN Entertainment", the largest entertainment business group in the country. This group unites the top Lithuanian companies engaged in arena management, event organization and ticket/gift certificate sales in various fields of entertainment.  

Now one of Lithuania’s key sports, entertainment and cultural venues, "Siemens" arena has earned national and international recognition:

Sports Building of the Year

In 2004, "Siemens" arena was named Lithuanian Sports Building of the Year

European Basketball Championship

In 2004, the arena won the right to organize the 2011 Men’s European Basketball Championship

The Superbrands Title

In the end of 2007 the arbitrator of international product brands Superbrands awarded "Siemens" arena as one of the most valuable brands in Lithuania

AIR CONDITIONING

The arena is equipped with a 2,480 kW air conditioning system. That is powerful enough to ventilate more than 310 standard 2-bedroom flats

ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT

The maximum power of the electrical equipment installed at the arena is 5,200 kW. That is enough electricity to light approximately 300 km of streets

THE HEATING SYSTEM

The arena’s 7,230 kW heating system could heat approximately 535 standard 2-bedroom flats

THE VENTILATION SYSTEM

When working at full capacity, the ventilation system completely replaces the air in the building every 26 minutes

PAPER CONSUMPTION

During the season, 42,000 m of toilet paper are used at "Siemens" arena each month. This is enough to cover the entire route of an Olympic marathon
